Mental Training Program

Participation in this 4 week introductory mental training program will teach you the basics of how the mind impacts your performance on the ice. Together, with 4 other skaters, we will focus on developing skills to eliminate self-doubt and increase confidence, control competition nerves, and overcome perfectionism. During the 30 minute online calls, there will be teaching, group work and discussion, creating an interactive experience that is fun and hands-on.

Whether you are outgoing or not, there is never any pressure. Most skaters are surprised how quickly they become comfortable in the group and seize the opportunity to talk about their experiences pretty early on. One of the biggest assets of a small group is learning from one another! You see that you are not alone in your struggles and are motivated to do the work because you have others to be accountable to.

Parents will attend 2 sessions solely for parents to have a better understand of the interaction with Rebekah and how they are able to assist in the day to day development of the program. 

Bio:

Rebekah Dixon is a High Performance Mental Trainer for figure skaters. She developed Mind-Body Performance Training, a sport specific mental training program that focuses on building unshakeable confidence, achieving goals, and performing your best when it counts. Rebekah was a competitive skater and coach, so she understands the unique challenges skaters face. 

She has been supporting athletes at the Provincial, National, International, World, and Olympic level for 8 years. Most notably she trained Meagan Duhamel going into the 2018 Olympics and Kirsten Moore-Towers going into the 2022 Olympics.

Session Information:

Dates: August 10th and 31st

Time: 8:30pm - 9pm AWST 

Cost: $40 for all 2 sessions over 2 weeks
